Travel Photography – Honeymoon

Traveling is probably one of my favorite things in this world to do. Normally I travel by myself (mostly because I work for myself and like to travel at a fast pace), but this time I was lucky enough to have my husband by my side! Kyle and I decided to do Europe for our honeymoon and we basically each chose a couple of spots we really wanted to see and filled in the blanks wherever the trains stopped in between! We decided to go during Christmas and New Years (because we are both self employed and we able to take off during both our slow seasons! Despite it being “winter” in Europe, it was nothing compared to our normal Kamloops winter and we were surprised with mostly beautiful weather!

These two lovelies are so near and dear to my heart which is why I was so excited when they wanted me to go with them to photograph their wedding in the Mayan Riviera! Brandi and Jon are such an amazing couple! They have the biggest hearts, the most wonderful personalities, a gorgeous little son, and to top it all off they are both ridiculously good looking! (see their engagement/family photos here) The whole trip was so much fun, and you can tell how loved these two are by how many friends and family came out to celebrate their marriage! The resort they chose was a stunning backdrop for their wedding! Their reception took place on a catamaran that brought us out on the ocean and then we stopped to have a delicious lobster dinner while the sun set! There is something so special about a bride on her wedding day that I really love, such anticipation and excitement! Brandi is the epitome of this statement, she is so gorgeous and her smile steals the show in every photo that I have of her. The love that they share for one another and their son is so apparent and makes me absolutely adore what I do!! Thank you for an amazing start to 2015! So much love to you both! xo

I first met Angela through a mutual friend and although we only hung out for a little bit I knew she was someone who had a wonderful soul and good energy. We met again when I photographed her head shots for Flourish Mind and Body Wellness Centre and again I got a good vibe from her. When she asked me to photograph her and her son Cooper I was excited because I absolutely love family sessions. When I realized that Angela had a teenage son, I was blown away because she barely looks old enough to have a newborn!! I had a lot of fun just watching them joke around with one another (Cooper definitely had a few tricks up his sleeve for making his mom laugh!) and play with their energetic dog! We managed to find some beautiful locations, especially the hoar frost that blanketed just one portion of the road as we were driving up Rose Hill. They were great sports with all my ideas and I loved getting to hang out with them both and just getting to know them both better. So much love to you both! xo

Sarah and Tyler are seriously the cutest couple ever! Tyler is a romantic through and through and when I heard their story I instantly fell in love with both of them! On their first date they went for dinner and then walked around the park to star gaze (bonus points Tyler!) On their one year anniversary he put the guys in movies to shame, as he replicated their first date in the cutest way possible! With the help of her parents (Sarah’s dad is also a photographer and is always taking photos) after going out for dinner they came home to just hang out and play some games – but when they got home Sarah’s dad asked if he could take a few photos of them outside because it was their one year anniversary (this wasn’t out of the ordinary for him to have such a request so Sarah thought nothing of it!) Tyler had set up the backyard with hanging lights and mason jars with candles and a curtain that fell down and said Marry Me! He also had her stunning Grandmother’s ring to propose with (which was also a complete surprise!) But after meeting Sarah and seeing how unbelievably sweet and kind and adorable she is you realize why Tyler is so head over heels for her! These two are just a bundle of love and spending the snowy afternoon at Sun Peaks with them was so much fun! I can’t wait for their wedding – it’s going to be magical! So much love to you both! xo

The first time I met Nicole and Tamara I felt like we had been friends for years! They are the most wonderful girls, and remind me a lot of my sister and I with their cute familial mannerisms and inside jokes – I instantly wanted to have a photo session with my own sister! They booked me months in advance in order to have the photos ready for their parents for Christmas but in the meantime they ended up getting jobs in Ohio so we postponed their shoot at that moment. A month or so later they messaged me to ask if I would like to come to the States to photograph them there! Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always up for a new adventure to a new destination, and so I excitedly said YES! There are so many talented photographers in the US and I was so honored that they wanted to fly me all that way to do their photos! We had a ridiculously fun day with lots of outfit changes and an unreal mansion like chalet to get changed in! We went to a place called Hocking Hills just outside of Columbus where there were cool waterfalls and caves and we had some exciting experiences! It was such a fun experience and one I am so thankful for! Thanks ladies! So much love to you and your family this Holiday season! xo

I absolutely love shooting in new places and exploring fun spots with my amazing couples! Caitlin and Kelvin, were of course, no exception! We were so incredibly lucky to have the most beautiful Fall day in Calgary that I have ever experienced! I’m always a little nervous meeting new clients on the day of their shoot when we’ve only met via Skype, but these two couldn’t have been more adorable if they tried! It probably helps that I knew how flippen cute Kelvin was to propose to Caitlin at Disneyland! He had a whole planned proposal with signs on one of the rides that took pictures, so as Caitlin was busy screaming and closing her eyes, Kelvin had signs up that said “Will you Marry Me” so that when they went to look at the photo after the ride the question would be there in such a fun and unique way! Caitlin’s cute little smile is contagious and Kelvin has so much style, and is such a sweetheart! The way they giggle together, and the way they are so playful with one another makes me love them that much more! I absolutely loved photographing these two in Calgary and can’t wait for their winter February wedding in Kamloops! So much love to you both! xo

I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to spend my last wedding of the year (at least in Canada) with! When Kim and I first chatted about her wedding day she was worried that the end of October would too cold to have the ceremony outside (especially because we did their family/engagement photos at the end of October last year and it was a little chilly!- you can see those here) but thankfully we had the most beautiful fall day for their wedding. There was the faintest hint of rain, but only long enough to produce a beautiful rainbow – with the rest of the day filled with sunshine and warmth! The whole day was like something out of a country western magazine – it was the most beautiful country rustic wedding I’ve seen, and all the details were perfect! Kim was a vision of beauty with her lace gown, her pop of color with her bouquet and of course her ridiculously amazing veil! She is also such a sweetheart and such a great mom – I love how kind she is an how her smile is so genuine! Jacob is also so wonderful – he’s so easy going and he is the true definition of a gentleman! I love that he and Kim have two fantastic kids together and that they are such self sufficient and relaxed kids! Seeing all the love and support from everyone in their community made it that much more of a fun and wonderful day and I felt so lucky to be a part of a wedding filled with so much love and happiness! So much love to you both! xo

Jenn & Chad

There were a few tell-tale signs right off the bat that indicated how much I was going to love working with Jenn & Chad. Maybe it was the moment she first emailed me about their engagement photos and I could tell how genuinely sweet she was, or maybe it was when she emailed me the night before those photos to warn me that Chad had a lot of different ideas for the shoot! I love when the bride to be is as excited as I am about their photos, and I especially love it when the guys are just as stoked! These are two are just the sweetest (and if you can believe it even sweeter together) and I loved hearing the story about how they met! Chad was working security at an event and Jenn “may have” been consuming a few beverages that evening, and I guess at one point she tried to leave the designated drinking spot to go outside, and he caught her trying to sneak her drink out. Instead of reprimanding her, he took advantage of that time together to ask her some questions and they ended up talking and getting to know one another throughout the rest of the night. That was years ago and now they are planning their beautiful wedding together – it just goes to show you the the right one could be literally just waiting around the corner! I absolutely love how kind, sweet (and gorgeous!) Jenn is and I love how wonderful, lovely (and handsome!) Chad is! We had such an amazing late Fall day together with some beautiful sun gracing us with it’s presence throughout the shoot! There was wine, crawling through bushes, sitting in creeks and lots of laughs throughout our session and it made me even more excited for their big day next year! I know for sure it’s going to be such a great day! So much love to you two! <3 xo

I feel like I am such a lucky photographer because I am always blessed with super in love couples, beautiful couples, and amazing couples! They always wonderful and loveable personalities which makes me want to be great friends with all of them! Kristy and James met all of these descriptions and more! When Kristy first came to me our only communication was through email and I didn’t actually meet James and her until the day before her wedding, but it was like we had known one another for years! These two are like peas in a pod – so easy going and relaxed and so much fun to be around! They are so great with one another probably because they have two unbelievably adorable little girls together and are already so stable with their lives together but really wanted to get married for her Grandma and close friends and family to be there to celebrate in their love.

Because the wedding was in Vancouver we were so lucky to have a day without any rain (especially because their wedding was in March!) and although it was chilly outside that didn’t stop us at all from taking photos outdoors and embracing the surrounding beauty! One can only hope to be as calm and collected a bride as Kristy was, and as proud and handsome a groom as James was and to celebrate their marriage in an intimate ceremony in front of the ones who matter the most. I wish you two lived closer so I could watch your amazing family continue to grow :) xo
