Kelly + Colin Tranquille Creek Engagement

Kelly and Colin are that adorable couple who have been dating since high school, and are still just as in love as they were 10 years ago! Colin purposed to Kelly on Christmas day two years ago- so they have had lots of time to plan their ideal wedding. I’m so excited to see the individual touches that Kelly has in store: she has expressed that she would love the tables to be adorned with peacock and ostrich feathers, and a bountiful amount of deep purple and turquoise for the colours. I love it when my brides have their own unique vision for their wedding day and they come up with ideas that are completely special to the two of them. I love how Colin is so thoughtful and attentive towards his bride to be. He proposed while they were on a family vacation to Mexico, and he had decided to give her a ring that had been in his family for years. He had his sister safe keep it for the journey and on the day that he proposed he stopped at a local vendor in Mexico to buy an oyster shell and put the ring in the shell before he proposed. He knew how much Kelly loves diamonds, and that she would love something that was meant just for her, so when they returned home, he had another, special engagement ring just for her! What a keeper! Can not wait to photograph their wedding this summer! So much love to you both!

Scott + Ashley Winter Snow Engagement
Kamloops, BC

It seems like so long ago that we had this much snow in the mountains, but I was so glad to have it looking like a perfect Winter wonderland for this adorable engagement session! I could not be happier for these two to be getting married as they’ve been together for years, and are now living together and going to University in Ontario! Scott is such a funny guy and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing him in another wedding and was delighted to photograph him and his fiancee! Ashley is not only beautiful, but she’s also one of the sweetest people ever! She is tall and stunning, and she has the most wonderful beaming smile when Scott cracks jokes! These two are so cute together, and so in love that I barely had to tell them to snuggle in together to keep warm in the cold surroundings. There is something so inviting about a cold winter day to really warm a session up! Can’t wait for these two lovebirds to tie the knot! So much love to you both! xo

After I made them throw snow everywhere I figured I should be nice, so we went inside by the Christmas tree so that they could cuddle and warm up!

Alysia + Don Maternity Session

In the last couple of years I have started to appreciate the importance of capturing maternity portraits. Maybe it’s because my friends are all starting to have children, or maybe because having a family seems more realistic now that I’ve met my fiance; but either way the unbelievable love that you can see that Don + Alysia have for their baby already is so amazing. Alysia is such a stunning mama, and the way she held her belly, and the love that surrounded her womb was indescribable, and I also know that they have everything ready for their baby, with furniture from Treasure Rooms site included. I love that we had a ridiculous amount of fog over Kamloops this particular morning, and that these two were up for the uniqueness that it would bring to their photos (and I think it totally brought another interesting dynamic!). These two are going to be such amazing parents and I can not wait to meet their adorable little newborn (boy or girl, we will have to wait and see!). Thank you so much for having me capture this special time in your lives! So much love to you all! xo

Tiana + Craig Winter Engagement Session

Tiana + Craig are so wonderfully amazing! Although they were a tad nervous for their shoot, they allowed me to choose the location, and said they were okay with the snow and the outdoors (so we definitely did the outdoors! – I think at one point we were in snow up to our knees! and they didn’t complain once!!!) When Tiana stepped out of the truck I immediately thought she was a Snow White look alike! Her flawless pale skin, beautiful dark hair and stunning green eyes were perfection against the snowy hillside, and with cute Craig by her side these two couldn’t take a bad photo! We had the bonus entertainment of watching their dog bounce around and chase after snow! I can not wait for their September wedding – it’s going to be such an amazing day! Deena + Shawn are so amazingly adorable as a couple! I’ve known Deena for a long time now, as she and my sister grew up together loving horses, and the outdoors. When I first met Shawn I knew he was such a great match for Deena. He is also an outdoorsy guy, and has this endearing demeanor about him. What I loved most was every time he gave her a little sideways glance or smile, her smile would get even bigger (if that’s even possible) and the would just radiate love and respect for one another! Deena has the most incredible smile and it’s hard not to smile too just looking at her! They have the most incredible property right outside their back door in Salmon Arm. so it was only fitting to check it out and do a few preliminary shots there – and wow, it’s exactly like a FernGully enchanted forest! I love that these two are up for anything, and I can not wait for their wedding next year! So much love to you both! xo

Chloe + Al Outdoor Engagement Photographer

I am so beyond excited to be sharing the photos from Al + Chloe’s engagement session, and I am so ecstatic that I get to be a part of their amazing wedding day next year! These two are very good friends of mine, and I always feel so honored when friends choose me to photograph such an important day in their lives! These two are seriously as cute as buttons :) They giggled and laughed and played throughout our whole session, and I love all of the true emotions that came out of them throughout the day! I know Al to be more of a manly man; he’s tall and handsome and well, a man’s man – but he totally embraced the session and was snuggling Chloe in, smiling the biggest at her, and was just so cute towards her the whole session! You can see in the photos that Chloe is absolutely drop dead gorgeous and photographing her was a dream! She is so tiny and cute and just fell in to Al’s arms for some uber romantic photos! She is also one of the sweetest girls I know. These two are just too wonderful together. I love how kind they are to one another and to everyone around them. I have too many good things to say about them both, so I’ll just stop there and say I’m so grateful to be a part of their wedding day, and their lives! So much love to you both! xo

Ellie + Ian’s wedding day was exactly like the two of them! Ridiculously creative, amazingly fun, and super laid back! I’ve known Ellie since we worked together in Vancouver and I’ve always loved what a wonderful person she is; so when she asked me to photograph her and Ian’s wedding I was so excited to be a part of it. I absolutely love when couple’s come up with completely unique ideas for their wedding decor and theme, and when they personalize it so that it means something to the two of them. These two love dinosaurs and they incorporated them in the most amazing ways possible. Ellie walked down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song and their cake and decorations were adorned with T-Rex. You would think that a carnival theme could never fit in to it all – but they totally made it happen! Because they were married at Calgary Historical Heritage Park (which has a carnival inside the park) they had amusement rides, carnival games and festivities! Although it was a windy September day, nothing was wiping the smiles of their faces! These two were amazing all day, and I couldn’t have asked to spend a better day with anyone else! Thank you for having me capture your wedding day! xo

Ahhh – Melissa and David’s wedding day was absolutely magical. There were so many things that I loved about their day! I loved that I knew most of their guests from previous weddings (and I first met Dave when he was a groomsmen in another amazing wedding that I was a part of!) I love that these two are the nicest, most genuine, most adorable couple ever! I loved all of the personal touches that went in to their wedding day and most of all I loved that they were still up for anything even when we got poured on during photos (and I mean poured on!) When I first met Melissa I was in awe of how stunningly beautiful she is! She is a vision of beauty whether she is just casually looking at the camera and then her whole face lights up when she smiles. She’s also one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting – so it’s no wonder why Dave has fallen head over heels in love with her! But it works both ways! Dave is so wonderful to be around! He is well loved by his friends and family and is equally as genuine and kind as his wife (and he’s the perfect mesh of handsome and adorable all wrapped in to one!) These two make my heart happy! I could go on and on but instead, I’ll let you enjoy their photos, the moodiness, the happiness, the hilariousness and the all around amazingness that I experienced throughout their day! Lori + Matt Creative Engagement Photographer

Lori + Matt are genuinely one of the cutest couples I’ve had the pleasure of photographing! Lori has such a wonderful smile and such an infectious giggle; all I would have to say is “Matt say something to get Lori laughing” and she would start laughing, it was fantastic! The best part about these two is that they feed off each others energy, and they both have really positive energy! We were literally bushwhacking to get to the spot that I wanted and instead of being annoyed with my desire to find the most difficult spot, Matt was cheerfully naming flowers and birds with Lori asking inquisitive questions about them. When we finally got to the top of the mountain the wind was so strong that we could barely stand in it! But again, these two were troopers and they definitely modeled through the wind (and I’m so glad that they did because this photo below if one of my faves!) This session made me so excited for their wedding at the South Thompson Inn this year, because I know it will involve good people and good times! Thank you for braving the wind for me to get some creative shots! So much love to you both! xo
