Our wedding day was quite surreal for me! Being a wedding photographer myself, I found that whenever I mentioned I was getting married the person on the other end of the conversation would ask “well who is going to do your photos?!” For me it was a no brainer; I met Kristy with Blush Wedding Photography several years ago when I lived in Vancouver and have followed and loved her work ever since (and how could you not, as she and her husband absolutely kill it with how incredibly talented they are!) Kyle agreed, and now we have a thousand stunning photos to remember our day by – and I’m finally getting around to sharing a ton of our favorites!!!! The biggest thank you to these two amazing photographers who truly captured our beautiful day and all the moments in it! xox

There were SO many unbelievable people who made our day the special day that it was! Brandy Maddison Events was a lifesaver/planner extraordinaire. I knew what my vision was (ish) and she more than brought it to life! This woman has MAD TALENT and a crazy hard work ethic, and is someone who literally makes wedding dreams come true! She and her team decorated our entire venue (in only a few hours due to time restrictions with our venue), made sure everything was perfect (and it couldn’t have been more perfect!), smiled and danced with us, and then had to tear down that evening as well! Serious dream team!! Brandy also did all our florals and they were like something from a wedding magazine – I gave her creative reign to make something simple + beautiful and she went above and beyond (like she does with absolutely everything!)

Nathan with Joy Factory Films did our wedding video and I honestly don’t think I could love something more. I’ve worked with Nate for quite a few weddings, and Kyle and I both knew that we wanted Joy Factory to do our wedding, but until I saw our video I didn’t know how much I really wanted that video! I know that having a videographer is usually something that gets set aside because of cost, but it is more than worth it to find the money for it!! It was by far one of the best decisions we made! For those of you who haven’t seen our video here it is (yay!): https://vimeo.com/190184962

For those of you who don’t follow any of my social media accounts, Laine Dagneau – Looks by Laine and I work together pretty much all of the time! I should probably just have her on my payroll because we work together so much! This girl has the craziest skills for making EVERYONE look and feel like a goddess! She did my hair and makeup for the day (as well as my mom’s hair + makeup. and she did my all my bridesmaids hair) and I can honestly say I’ve never felt prettier in my entire life! She also did a second look for me, which not only made me feel like a celebrity, it also was so great to have my hair completely up for the reception! My dear long time friend Amber with Sheer Radiance did all my bridesmaids makeup and they looked so incredibly flawless as well! I couldn’t have imagined getting ready in the morning without these two ladies killing it behind the scenes. Amber also runs Sheer Florals + Silk and she provided all the stunning, flowing hand dyed silk that you see off of all our bouquets – which totally polished off the entire look of our florals!
The majority of our vendors traveled from Kamloops to be a part of our day, and it meant so much to us to have vendors who are also good friends be there! Jesse from Common Sound was our DJ and we wouldn’t have had it any other way! Jesse and I also do a ton of weddings together and he knows how to get the party going and keep it going! So much so that when we were supposed to leave everyone was still killing the dance floor – my only regret is that we didn’t have the space for an extra hour longer!!

My amazingly perfect eyelashes were done by the uber talented Arnica with Sugar and Spice who spent so much time making sure every single lash was perfect (and they were – my only wish is always have my lashes like that!!!) and Mia with The Diamond Dollhouse who also was meticulous in making sure my nails were so naturally done (they were built from my chewed, nothing nails – so seriously such a talent there as well!) All of our vendors helped to make it the most seamless day possible – and all other vendors are mentioned at the end of the post! I am going to do a separate blog post (one of these days) on my tips as a past bride/ current photographer on how to make your wedding day the best day possible! But for now, enjoy a ton of photos from our day! xo

Doing a first look was so special! We had those moments just for us, and we were able to talk and kiss and hug and get excited about the rest of the day together. Doing a first look is totally a personal decision but for us, it felt so right to be able to spend the whole day together and to have that first moment when we saw each other all dressed up just to ourselves.

One of my fave photos for sure ^

Doing a first look with my dad was something so special as well – I’m so glad we took an extra few minutes to do this!

Have been looking forward to the photos of your wedding Roz – thank you for posting these gorgeous shots. The ones of you and your Dad brought tears to my eyes. I’m sure your grandma Helen and grandad Len were looking down on that day and beaming with pride and love. (Steve Rainer’s older sister xoxo)
