Travel Photography – Honeymoon

Traveling is probably one of my favorite things in this world to do. Normally I travel by myself (mostly because I work for myself and like to travel at a fast pace), but this time I was lucky enough to have my husband by my side! Kyle and I decided to do Europe for our honeymoon and we basically each chose a couple of spots we really wanted to see and filled in the blanks wherever the trains stopped in between! We decided to go during Christmas and New Years (because we are both self employed and we able to take off during both our slow seasons! Despite it being “winter” in Europe, it was nothing compared to our normal Kamloops winter and we were surprised with mostly beautiful weather!

Colleen + Brent Sunset Ranch Wedding Photographer

Colleen + Brent are so many things. They are a fantastic couple, they are wonderful people, they are so much fun and they are so good looking! I first met the two of them over a Skype conversation while they were living in Inuvik, and I knew that I would love being a part of their wedding! Brent’s proposal was unbelievably creative and came as a complete surprise to Colleen! They had both attended a wedding in another part of the country and after she was coming home to Kamloops to spend some time with friend’s and family, while Brent had to go back to Inuvik to work… or so she thought! Instead he had a whole plan laid out. Colleen’s best friend told her that she won a free night at Quaaout Lodge and that they should go out there and have a relaxing girl’s night! When they got there Brent had lit candles everywhere in the room and he was there with a heartfelt speech and proposed! He also got her best friend to record the proposal because he knew she had always wanted a recording of it! What a guy!!! Colleen is so deserving to have found such a wonderful man – she is quite possibly one of the sweetest people I have ever met and she is so organized, thoughtful and kind (and I love that I now call her a friend as well :) Together these two are going to have a life that is as stunning as their wedding day was! Their whole day was so laid back, fun and perfect! Thank you both so much for choosing me to photograph your big day! So much love to you both! xo

Lori + Matt Creative Engagement Photographer

Lori + Matt are genuinely one of the cutest couples I’ve had the pleasure of photographing! Lori has such a wonderful smile and such an infectious giggle; all I would have to say is “Matt say something to get Lori laughing” and she would start laughing, it was fantastic! The best part about these two is that they feed off each others energy, and they both have really positive energy! We were literally bushwhacking to get to the spot that I wanted and instead of being annoyed with my desire to find the most difficult spot, Matt was cheerfully naming flowers and birds with Lori asking inquisitive questions about them. When we finally got to the top of the mountain the wind was so strong that we could barely stand in it! But again, these two were troopers and they definitely modeled through the wind (and I’m so glad that they did because this photo below if one of my faves!) This session made me so excited for their wedding at the South Thompson Inn this year, because I know it will involve good people and good times! Thank you for braving the wind for me to get some creative shots! So much love to you both! xo

Carly and Marco are such a sweet and adorable couple! Carly’s big brown eyes show what a warm and genuine person she is and Marco’s cute little mischievous grin shows his boyish charm! I think what I love the most about the two of them together is how silly and playful they are. While we were taking photos Marco kept doing the funniest little things to make Carly, and the whole bridal party laugh (and you can see how infectious that laughter was in the one group shot!) I also loved how their love of hockey was incorporated throughout the day; they had a huge faux hockey rink as the dance floor and they had playoff towels to wave throughout the reception. Although the Canucks did not win the playoff game, it was as though they had with the all the energy in the room. Everyone laughed and danced until the wee hours and it was the most beautiful day for an April wedding. Love these two lovebirds so much and had so much fun being a part of their day! xo

Brittany + Jon Love the Dress Anniversary Photographer

Brittany is the co-owner of Aglow Bridal Store in Kamloops and she is the type of person to get so excited about weddings and dresses and things that are sparkly. When she said that she was disappointed with her wedding photos from 5 years ago and that she wanted to do an anniversary session, I was so excited to be the one chosen to re-do these photos. Jon is so kind and wonderful and he never stops smiling at Brittany – anyone in the wedding industry knows him as one of the behind the scenes guys who is always helping set up + tear down an elaborate wedding! Brittany was so cute throughout the session and although she was a little nervous in front of the camera at the beginning (like most women are) as soon as Jon snuggled her in, she would laugh and smile and just glow with happiness! Brittany is also one of the most generous people I’ve ever met as she’s lent me countless dresses and accessories from her bridal store for stylized shoots. Kamloops brides (and other vendors) are so lucky to have such wonderful people in town who will treat your wedding day as though it is their own!

Cocoa Dot Cakes Baking Portraits

I’ve always admired people who can bake delicious desserts just from a few simple ingredients (probably because I can not!) and Megan is definitely one of those people! She is the talent behind Cocoa Dot Cakes, an amazing cupcake and cake company here in Kamloops. She has been the creator of so many amazing cakes for stylized shoots that I’ve been involved with and her imagination when it comes to thinking outside the box is amazing! I first met Megan when I photographed her engagement and wedding photos almost 2 years ago now! I love how wonderfully organized this girl is (probably a huge reason why her business is doing so well!) and how fun she is to hang out with (another reason people love her!) I had the most fun shooting this session (probably because I got to sample the goods while she was baking) and I’m so glad she chose me to get her some new shots for her website and flourishing business! So much love you to Megan! xo

Kelly and Paul are such an incredibly sweet and amazing couple. When I first met them I knew right away that it was going to be so much fun being a part of their wedding because they are so awesome to be around! Although we had planned on having tons of snow everywhere for their engagement shoot, the weather didn’t really co-operate with us, but instead we got a gorgeous bluebird day that really made the views from the top of this mountain pretty spectacular! They brought along their adorable dog Sadie (and what a ridiculously well behaved dog she is – I’ve never had a dog pose so well!) and we just went exploring. These two are just so lovely together and they are probably two of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I love that you can tell how genuine and heart warming their love is just by looking at the photos of the two of them! There wasn’t a moment where they weren’t smiling from ear to ear at one another! I had so much fun trekking through the woods and the deep snow with you two, I can’t wait for your Tobaino Wedding!!! So much love to you both! xo

2015 TRU Bridal Fair – Rozalind Ewashina Photography

The 2015 TRU Bridal Fair this year was fantastic! We had a record breaking 458 brides register for the event and it was a great time to celebrate all the new brides (and grooms!) who showed up to enjoy the day! I was so lucky to to have the incredibly talented (and uber sweet) Brandy from Brandy Maddison Event Planning & Design help me style and organize my booth so that it reflected my brand and I! I loved every aspect of my set up, and seriously could not have done it without this girl! She is also doing Floral Design now and is so creative and gifted with that aspect of weddings as well! It was so wonderful seeing all my beautiful 2015 and 2016 brides and grooms(and some of my previous brides as well!) at the fair, and I loved getting to hear all about the upcoming weddings and ideas that all these brides have in store! Kamloops really has a lot of great talent that is offered and it was such a great venue to really showcase everyone in the industry! What a fabulous start to 2015! xo
