In the last couple of years I have started to appreciate the importance of capturing maternity portraits. Maybe it’s because my friends are all starting to have children, or maybe because having a family seems more realistic now that I’ve met my fiance; but either way the unbelievable love that you can see that Don + Alysia have for their baby already is so amazing. Alysia is such a stunning mama, and the way she held her belly, and the love that surrounded her womb was indescribable, and I also know that they have everything ready for their baby, with furniture from Treasure Rooms site included. I love that we had a ridiculous amount of fog over Kamloops this particular morning, and that these two were up for the uniqueness that it would bring to their photos (and I think it totally brought another interesting dynamic!). These two are going to be such amazing parents and I can not wait to meet their adorable little newborn (boy or girl, we will have to wait and see!). I absolutely LOVE these girls. I have had the pleasure of knowing their family (through my family), and watching the girls grow from babies to beautiful young ladies. We had such a wonderful day shooting out in the brisk weather, and these girls are always full of smiles and tons of laughter! I literally can not take a bad photo of these stunning girls, and I love how their mom looks like a sister in the group (and I’m also in love with their families newest addition, Leia, a rambunctious little frenchie). The best part is that they are all so kind, wonderful and genuine people, and I love the bond that they all have with one another. I can’t wait to continue to watch your family flourish! These two little boys completely stole my heart! Maybe it was their matching little outfits, their cute little smiles, or their wonderful little personalities! We spent the early afternoon downtown where we let the boys crawl around by all the cool graffiti walls. They were in to everything and it was so fun watching them be enthralled with the smallest things! I know how quickly kids get in to things, and how fast they move when they are on a roll, but I think because there was two of them that they seemed that much more ambitious! We set them in one spot and within an eighth of a second they’d be off in different directions finding new things to explore! I’ve always been fascinated with twins (and wished that I was one growing up) so seeing these identical little boys cruise around just made me want twins that much more! Too bad they don’t run in mine, or Kyle’s family! These two little guys were so well behaved which is totally representative of their laid back, awesome parents – they just let their kids be kids, and the day unfolded from there! I first met Angela through a mutual friend and although we only hung out for a little bit I knew she was someone who had a wonderful soul and good energy. We met again when I photographed her head shots for 
The first time I met Nicole and Tamara I felt like we had been friends for years! They are the most wonderful girls, and remind me a lot of my sister and I with their cute familial mannerisms and inside jokes – I instantly wanted to have a photo session with my own sister! They booked me months in advance in order to have the photos ready for their parents for Christmas but in the meantime they ended up getting jobs in Ohio so we postponed their shoot at that moment. A month or so later they messaged me to ask if I would like to come to the States to photograph them there! Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always up for a new adventure to a new destination, and so I excitedly said YES! There are so many talented photographers in the US and I was so honored that they wanted to fly me all that way to do their photos! We had a ridiculously fun day with lots of outfit changes and an unreal mansion like chalet to get changed in! We went to a place called Hocking Hills just outside of Columbus where there were cool waterfalls and caves and we had some exciting experiences! It was such a fun experience and one I am so thankful for! Thanks ladies! So much love to you and your family this Holiday season! xo
I’ve known Leah through a business networking group that I’ve been joined to for the past 2 years now, and although I’ve heard about her lovely family I had never met them until this shoot! I love that kids in this age group have so much personality and zest for life and Maddy and Callum were no exception! While Callum was out and about picking rocks, Maddy was diligently helping me pick different locations for their photos! We had originally planned the shoot a few days earlier and unfortunately it was a rainy and miserable day so we rescheduled and got this unbelievably beautiful Fall day! I enjoyed getting to know this adorable family in the glorious afternoon sun while they played and had a good time together! You can tell instantly what amazing parents Leah + Alan are because of how awesome their kids are! So polite, so helpful and so flippen cute! Leah is such a genuine and lovely person – you can see it in her smile (I swear she couldn’t take a bad photo if she tried!) and you can see it in their family dynamic! It’s families like this that make me want to have cute little kids like theirs! Thank you for choosing me to capture all the beauty that is your family! So much love to you all! xo
