Aliza & Brett

When Aliza and Brett booked me to photograph their big day, I had never actually even met them and the first time I officially even saw them was on their wedding day! I knew immediately that I was going to have A LOT of fun with the bride and groom and the super hilarious bridal party! Aliza is absolutely stunning, and has a resemblance to Katy Perry (which of course is an awesome thing!) and she has a light, fun spirited and wonderful personality to go with her good looks! Birds of a feather flock together and all of her bridesmaids were no different! I felt like we were all friends from the moment I stepped in to the house – the girls just went about getting Aliza ready for her big day and you could tell that they were so excited for their friend! The amazingness continued with their locations, which couldn’t have been more incredible! Aliza’s Uncle’s farm was the setting for the ceremony and the rustic barn, old vehicles, and the mountains in the distance couldn’t have made for a more picturesque setting. Although it was a very hot day, we managed to have a ton of fun climbing up on the machinery, stepping through hay and old crates, and almost sinking in to the lake on one of the downtown wharves! (thankfully we didn’t!) Brett and his groomsmen provided a lot of laughs when they decided that hitting one another with the bouquets would make for some good pictures (and it did!). The iconic Laurel Packinghouse was the location for their reception and the brick, exposed beam ceiling and the simple lanterns were a perfect accompaniment to their theme for the day! I had a lot of fun joking around with these two and capturing their day – thank you for choosing me to document the fantastic memories!

Can you spot the hiding groomsmen?!

Can you tell how much fun this bridal party was? This was all their idea and it was definitely an entertaining one!!!

Jessica & Brent

Kamloops Wedding Photographer
I met Jessica through a mutual friend who ended up introducing us when Jessica started looking for a wedding photographer! After hearing some of their unique wedding details and knowing that our mutual friend was the maid of honor, I knew I would love these two and that I wanted to be a part of their big day! I knew I was stoked to be a part of their day when I heard they were doing their ceremony at the Tod Mountain Thoroughbred Ranch (which I had never photographed at, and never even knew existed until then – and WOW was it beautifully amazing!) Secondly, their wedding colors were hot pink and lime green (another original first, and so perfectly suited to them as a couple!); and thirdly, they were absolutely adorable together: ridiculously easy going, kind of goofy and so loving! I loved so many aspects of their day – how relaxed everyone was when getting ready – the girls chatted while drinking champagne, laughing and getting excited, and the boys had fun learning how to tie ties while drinking gin and Redbull! Jessica was definitely a very ‘together’ bride! She was chill the whole day, and never seemed stressed out even a little bit, she looked incredibly beautiful and so happy the entire day, and she was on the dance floor more than anyone else during the night! Brent was a little harder to read at first – he’s definitely a guy’s guy, so his nerves were a little more apparent in the morning, but he made my heart melt when I saw how proud and excited he was to see Jessica walk down the aisle toward him and I got to know him even better from the hilarious stories that came out in the speeches later in the night! I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple to spend such a lovely September day with and I wish you both so much happiness in your future together! xo

I love how Grandpa was chuckling at the boys as they were trying to figure out how to decorate the bridal vehicle with hot pink and lime green pom poms!

Kandyce & Bobby

I always feel so honored when a bride and groom who are from out of town tell me that they found me through an internet search.  The internet is such an overwhelming place to search for something as important as say a wedding photographer, because it means hours of pouring through websites, blogs and random wedding posts, and trying to deduct through all that who would be best to capture your day without necessarily getting to meet them first. When Kandyce first contacted me I knew I wanted to be a part of their day because she was so lovely (via email!), so organized and so in love! For out of town couples, I always try to ensure that we can meet face to face at some point, or in the least through skype because I like to see how the couple is together, and I want them to see what I’m like as well! I was fortunate to get to meet with Kandyce and Bobby before their big day and my first thoughts when I saw them was how unbelievably adorable they were! Kandyce is like a living doll! She’s tiny, beautiful, has gorgeous big blue eyes and a sweet personality! And Bobby could be mistaken for a Ken doll as well! He honestly couldn’t be any cuter, his tousled hair, his modest smile and his charming nature are a perfect fit for Kandyce! Their kindness, and aparent adoration for one another made my heart melt! When their wedding day came, I knew it was going to be fantastic! They had both agreed on Tobiano Golf Course as the desired location for their photos, and what a magical place to capture their love. Kandyce’s stunning veil blowing in the wind made my heart swoon with every click of my camera. Her vivacious smile and his boyish charm radiate in every single photo! Not to mention I had their ridiculously good looking wedding party to capture as well!  Although it was a scorching hot day, the wedding party and I had fun running about the course to get the best shots! I wish you both the happiest life together! Also, a huge thank you to my second shooter Ian, and to the bride’s friend Blossom who was a rockstar assistant! xo

The couple was super excited about going out to beautiful Tobiano Golf Course to do some photos! Although it was insanely hot out, we managed to find some shade and then brave the heat (the boys were such great sports even though they must have been boiling!)

I LOVE long veils! Kandyce was so cute, she told me that day that she had been planning on telling me that she was wearing the long veil, but decided to surprise me with it instead! I love that my brides know what will make me happy!

Kandyce, you are SO beautiful!!! And Bobby, what a handsome groom! :)

Ali & Travis
Kamloops Wedding

I love how small the world is, and how we are all more connected then we can ever think! Ali and I went to Primary school together, our Dad’s are good buddies and do work together, I worked with one of her bridesmaids in Vancouver for a few years and didn’t even know there was a Kamloops connection, I’m photographing her other bridesmaid’s wedding this year, and I had met one of the groomsmen randomly at a party years ago in Vancouver. I love having these connections and I think because of them, this wedding was more personal for me as I felt like I was actually a part of the wedding, apart from just being the photographer! After initially meeting with Ali to discuss her day, I knew it was going to be a day filled with so much love. Ali and Travis have been together for a long time, and are so incredibly perfect for one another. During their engagement shoot (you can view that shoot here: Ali & Trav Engagement) I could feel their love for one another in everything they did. Travis is so attentive and caring, and he has the kindest, most gentle personality which totally compliments Ali’s bubbly, loving, so thoughtful, and beautiful spirit! These two are meant for one another and their day was absolutely perfect! Their wedding day was no different – I would catch them smiling at each other, holding hands, and laughing together throughout the day. I had so much fun hanging out with the boys in the morning – there is always something so relaxed about the guys getting ready, and these guys were such great sports getting up early so that I could document them getting prepared for the big day! The energy in the hotel where the ladies got ready was filled with excitement! So many people there to help out, and although there were things going on in every corner of the room, Ali had the biggest smile on her face from the moment I saw her in the morning, until the moment I left the reception that night! Not many people can keep a fantastic smile on their face all day, but Ali’s genuine smile had me grinning from ear to ear all day, knowing that every photo I took of her was stunning and sincere. To sum it up, the whole day was magical. We had amazing weather for the creative photos, and I had so much fun finding the perfect spot with rolling hills, an idyllic dirt road and tall, swaying grasses to capture the two of them and their wedding party! What a fantastic day, and I couldn’t have asked to spend it with a better couple! Congrats to you both, I know you are going to have a long and happy life together (with gorgeous children)! Thanks for having me there to celebrate your day! xo

Travis made this hanger for his bride! What a keeper!

I wasn’t kidding when I said, “Ali, you are a vision!” What a beauty!

I loved how beautiful the girls accessories were, and how fun the boys socks were – they all had matching boxers as well!

“I love you because your devotion, is tender and wonderfully rare. And no-one could ever imagine the magical moments we share. I love you because you are truthful, your eyes hold a key to my heart. I know that you share my commitment, and I know that we never shall part.” I loved being a part of your wonderful day! You are truly made for one another!!! xo
