I love how small the world is, and how we are all more connected then we can ever think! Ali and I went to Primary school together, our Dad’s are good buddies and do work together, I worked with one of her bridesmaids in Vancouver for a few years and didn’t even know there was a Kamloops connection, I’m photographing her other bridesmaid’s wedding this year, and I had met one of the groomsmen randomly at a party years ago in Vancouver. I love having these connections and I think because of them, this wedding was more personal for me as I felt like I was actually a part of the wedding, apart from just being the photographer! After initially meeting with Ali to discuss her day, I knew it was going to be a day filled with so much love. Ali and Travis have been together for a long time, and are so incredibly perfect for one another. During their engagement shoot (you can view that shoot here: Ali & Trav Engagement) I could feel their love for one another in everything they did. Travis is so attentive and caring, and he has the kindest, most gentle personality which totally compliments Ali’s bubbly, loving, so thoughtful, and beautiful spirit! These two are meant for one another and their day was absolutely perfect! Their wedding day was no different – I would catch them smiling at each other, holding hands, and laughing together throughout the day. I had so much fun hanging out with the boys in the morning – there is always something so relaxed about the guys getting ready, and these guys were such great sports getting up early so that I could document them getting prepared for the big day! The energy in the hotel where the ladies got ready was filled with excitement! So many people there to help out, and although there were things going on in every corner of the room, Ali had the biggest smile on her face from the moment I saw her in the morning, until the moment I left the reception that night! Not many people can keep a fantastic smile on their face all day, but Ali’s genuine smile had me grinning from ear to ear all day, knowing that every photo I took of her was stunning and sincere. To sum it up, the whole day was magical. We had amazing weather for the creative photos, and I had so much fun finding the perfect spot with rolling hills, an idyllic dirt road and tall, swaying grasses to capture the two of them and their wedding party! What a fantastic day, and I couldn’t have asked to spend it with a better couple! Congrats to you both, I know you are going to have a long and happy life together (with gorgeous children)! Thanks for having me there to celebrate your day! xo
Travis made this hanger for his bride! What a keeper!
I wasn’t kidding when I said, “Ali, you are a vision!” What a beauty!
I loved how beautiful the girls accessories were, and how fun the boys socks were – they all had matching boxers as well!
“I love you because your devotion, is tender and wonderfully rare. And no-one could ever imagine the magical moments we share. I love you because you are truthful, your eyes hold a key to my heart. I know that you share my commitment, and I know that we never shall part.” I loved being a part of your wonderful day! You are truly made for one another!!! xo
