When Allie first messaged me about her idea to do an Alice in Wonderland themed engagement shoot my mind instantly started racing. There were so many options for ideas, but I knew for certain I wanted a white rabbit, some keys, white roses painted red and a few other odds and ends. What I was even more excited about was that Allie and I were on the same page and she had SO many amazing ideas too! Honestly, not even a day after the initial email, she messaged me saying she had gotten pretty much all of the props! Yay! I was getting so excited to help create this whimsical and magical shoot! They had both just visited Sun Peaks for the first time, and had both fallen in love with it, so we decided that a Alice in “Winter” Wonderland theme would be an awesome twist! I was so pumped to meet these two lovelies in person by the time the shoot actually rolled around :) Allie is a bundle of cuteness, amazing energy, creativity, brains and incredible beauty. Tyler is also ridiculously adorable (and of course handsome), the best sport ever, über smart and oh so wonderful with Allie! I love that they met in Med School and are both doing their residency to be Surgeons! Beauty and brains for these two, that’s for sure! What I also loved so much was Allie’s custom flower engagement ring that Tyler designed for her – and she says it is more perfect than she ever could have imagined – they are definitely compliment one another so well! We had so so so much fun falling in to huge snow banks (it was ridiculously deep in some spots) having a real live white rabbit make an appearance (yay Chester!), painting roses red, and walking around Sun Peaks (even though it got pretty cold out these two were such troopers!) You make such a fantastic couple, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of your amazing engagement shoot! So much love to you both! xo
HUGE thanks to Greg Peace (Kamloops Mortgage Alliance) for driving up to Sun Peaks with Chester the family rabbit! Greg was my Mortgage Broker and clearly goes above and beyond for his clients!!! I’m excited to hopefully use Chester again for a summertime shoot :)
I was so excited to finally meet Jessica & Jaret for their engagement shoot! They both live in Alberta and have been moving around a lot as well as doing some traveling, and we hadn’t had the chance to meet before they booked me for their wedding day. I always get a little nervous meeting a new bride and groom in person for the first time, but that feeling went away instantly as Jessica’s first words to me were: “I used to have that car, and in Yellow too!” I knew she sounded like a great person through her emails! These two are just so sweet together :) They were both adamant that they didn’t photograph well, and were a little awkward in front of the camera, but I had them laughing. giggling and being themselves in no time, and as you can see through their photos I think they were lying to me! These two are so at ease with one another. You can tell that Jaret is so in love with Jessica – his eyes literally twinkled when he looked at her and I can just see that he wants to be her protector and her best friend forever. He’s such a gentleman! And then you see Jessica and you can see why he’s so smitten! First off, she’s stunning and she has such a rad personality to match. Plus, I’ve never had such hair envy before in my life – it was like she was starring in a shampoo commercial! Jessica is so affectionate with Jaret too! The way she nuzzled in to him and how she never stopped smiling when he was around – love just makes me so happy! They were also awesome with all my crazy suggestions (Me: I know it’s -20 out here and you guys are getting cold, but would you mind crawling under this tree and sitting in the snow for a few pictures? Them: Okay!) and although it was cold we barely noticed with all the fun we were having! I absolutely cannot wait to photograph you two cuties on your wedding day! xo When you have beautiful hair like Jessica’s, you have to do some twirl shots! I met these two lovelies through a mutual friend who I went to Emily Carr with. Taylor & Graham were in search of a photographer for their beautiful Banff wedding, and I have always wanted to shoot a wedding in Banff! The set up seemed too good to be true and it got even more perfect once I realized that Taylor and I have the same email personality! She uses almost as many explanation marks as I do, and I could practically hear her excitement through her typed words! We booked their date, but I hadn’t actually met either of them until I planned a little trip to Calgary to do their engagement photos! These two are adorable (you can see it in every photo!) and they have the cutest story about how they met! They actually attended the same University without ever meeting, but good old fate still brought them together. While Taylor was working an internship at Graham’s place of work, they saw each other through the midst of a bunch of workers during a routine “stretch break” in the halls. They were both instantly intrigued at one another and said that every time they would stretch they would try to sneak a peek at one another! Graham seized the moment shortly after when he casually walked by Taylor’s office to introduce himself! Too flippen cute! They are such a great match in every regard: she is absolutely stunning, smart and funny and he is undeniably handsome, also smart and adorable! We had so much fun together roaming about a few different parts of Calgary (I was very excited to shoot in some new places!) and our time together made me that much more excited for their magical wedding day in Banff! I adore you two! So much love to you both! xo

Most amazing place ever (I just wish I had enough money to buy lots of ridiculously cool things there!) Huge thanks to Julie at the incredible Unitiquities Architectural Salvage!
What more can I say about these two incredible people? I’ve had the honor now of photographing them for a few different occasions, most recently for their amazing wedding at the Quaaout Lodge (you can see their photos here). The first day that I met Jordi I could tell instantly how sweet, adorable and wonderful she was, and I knew that we would become friends for sure! When we decided to do her “trash the dress” session in the winter, I was ecstatic! We both thought it would be the perfect season seeing how we had already shot in the Spring, Summer and the Fall! I knew their session would be extra fun because they are both always up for anything I suggest. I swear I could say, “okay for this one, let’s try swimming through the snow” and they would trust me enough to do it! Totally my kind of clients :) One of my favorite shots that I’ve ever taken is of the two of them in the middle of a bramble bush on their wedding day, and to get to that spot they had to climb through prickly bushes, dodge pokey branches and trek through a bunch of other stuff to make it to this impossibly hard to get to “perfect spot” that I always manage to want for the shot! So I knew when I wanted to incorporate fire, water and ice (oh and a bit of natural winter wind) for their shoot, there would be only excitement from them both! We had so much fun braving the cold (Jordi is a TROOPER!), trudging through the snow, and just having a great little day!!! Love you two to bits!

I loved SO many things about Breanne & Stefan’s wedding (and about them!) When I first met them, I was excited that they were so excited about planning a winter wedding, and almost everything that Breanne said, got my mind racing for ideas for pictures, and I was ecstatic to be a part of their day! After I did their engagement photos in the fall (you can see those here) I was even more convinced that their day was going to be filled to the brim with love, creativity, family and beauty! Boy, was I ever right!!! Every detail was meticulously thought out and executed: starting with the massive trees and tree stumps that were brought IN TO the Kamloops Alliance Church! Because of their love of skeet shooting, the boys boutineers were gun shells, and their pale pink colors matched elegantly with the white snow and the birch trees at Rainbow’s Roost. Breanne wore the veil her mother wore on her wedding day, and there were photos not only of Breanne and Stefan from aged 5 – 18 throughout the reception, but of their parents and grandparents on their weddings days as well! I could go on and on about all the amazing traditions that they had at their wedding, but instead I’ll just say that I was blown away by respect and the commitment to the sanctity of marriage from all the couples in attendance and I know that these two have an amazing support system and incredible role models to look up to! I wish you two all the happiness that you can imagine, thank you for including me in your day! xoxo

I absolutely adore these two lovebirds! When I first met them there were so many great things that I instantly picked up from their personalities, and how they were together. They are both extremely hard workers and have stuck it out together since high school, university, different jobs in different cities and through thick and thin and now they are stronger than ever! I love how Jaimie radiates compassion, beauty and intelligence (probably why she’s an amazing teacher!) and how her face lights up when Jimmy talks to her. Jimmy is equally as amazing (even though he has to travel a lot with his job, you can tell he’s never far from home!) and is a mix between undeniably handsome and unbelievably sweet (can’t you see how cute his smile for Jaimie is?!) I loved how much fun we had on their engagement shoot, trudging in the snow, (me making them sit, play and get cold in the snow), finding fun spots and keeping their cheeks nice and rosy! It was a really great day and it made me that much more excited for their amazing wedding! So much love to you both, I can’t wait to be a part of your big day! xo
I can’t wait for your amazing wedding!!!
When Nicole first contacted me about her and Shane’s wedding, I knew that I was going to love them based on how great she sounded from her emails alone! ! When I sat down to meet with them, I was even more convinced! Nicole is the sweetest (and most stunningly beautiful) person and Shane is so handsome an has a charming twinkle in his eye! A lot of the time I just meet with the brides to discuss their wedding, but Shane came and was such a sweetheart: he was 100% trusting of whatever crazy ideas that Nicole and I were coming up with and he was such a great sport! I could tell that he was just truly excited to marry the woman of his dreams and to give her the day that she wanted! When we planned their engagement shoot we had no idea that Kamloops was going to get a crazy cold streak, so despite the -20 weather that was anticipated for the day we decided to start out at one of my favourite coffee shops in town, Red Beard Roasters to warm their hearts and bodies for the cold shoot ahead. I love how much fun they had just doing something as simple as drinking coffee, and I loved that I never heard even a squeak of a complaint over the cold or the silly things I made them do while in the snow! Nicole is a natural in front of the camera, I swear I couldn’t take a bad picture of her if I tried – which makes me so so so excited to photograph her in her wedding dress! We headed up in to the mountains to find some untouched snow and we had so much fun running to and from our warm vehicles to take pictures, and then back in to the vehicles to warm up that I didn’t even realize how chilly it was outside! If this session was even a little bit indicative of how fun their wedding day will be, I am so unbelievably excited to be a part of it! I can’t wait for your big day! xo
